Kashi makes a wide variety of wholesome food products that are readily available at most grocery stores. They are currently giving away samples of some of their products for children at this link.
My absolute favorite Kashi treat is pairing their Heart to Heart cereal with fresh blueberries in a bowl and having it as an evening snack. I measure out my servings to keep the calories in check and love the taste combination.
I am also a huge fan of the Kashi frozen entrees. In my mind I would love to cook fresh meals every day from scratch, but in my reality my husband is a Marine and when he travels I don't always feel like cooking for one. the calories in these entrees tend to range slightly higher then Lean Cuisine or Weight Watchers, however the taste makes it worth it. Kashi uses wholesome ingredients that pack a lot of punch for taste. When you cook them they just seem more natural to the palete then a traditional frozen meal.
Kashi frozen entrees that I have tried and like are : Black Bean Mango, Chicken Pasta Pomodoro,
Lemongrass Coconut Chicken (in photo), Mayan Harvest Back, Pesto Pasto Primavera, Red Curry Chicken, Southwest Style Chicken, & Sweet and Sour Chicken.
I was inspired to write this post by the free sample offer, and taking a look at the Kashi website there are several useful tools for a healthy lifestyle also worth checking out.
Natural Nearby is a map tool to guide you to natural lifestyle resources. I was disappointed to not see any in North Carolina where I currently reside, but maybe some will be added soon!
I like the idea behind the Challenges page which lists small steps to a healthier lifestyle. The latest one posted is finding ways to reuse your coffee grounds. I am not a coffee drinker, but there are plenty of them out there sharing their ideas.
Overall Kashi has been a great resource for my healthy lifestyle because I can acquire their products with and ease and they taste fantastic.

I love Kashi products, especially their cereal. It's literally the only option in the cereal aisle of the small market by my house that isn't filled with hydrogenated oils, dyes, and preservatives.
ReplyDeleteMy all time favorite decadent breakfast is: Kashi Heart to Heart cereal, Silk Very Vanilla soymilk, banana slices, and melted peanut butter.
Thank you for linking to the sample!
Thanks for stopping by Ann! I love the availability of Kashi too, you shouldn't have to go to a health food store to be able to eat healthy.
