Green Beans

Green Beans are simple and fresh, but there are a variety of ways to serve this vegetable to suit your pallet.

Fresh & Steamed
Using a steamer basket over boiling water steam fresh green beans with the ends trimmed off for 5-10 minutes.  Use less time for crisp beans, and more time for a softer side dish.

Canned with Onions & Vinegar
Heat one drained can of green beans (any kind will work) over medium heat.  Add diced onions, minced garlic, and 2 tbsp of red wine vinegar.  Cook until onions are soft.

Roasted with Grape Tomatoes
Snap ends off fresh green beans, and place on a non-stick baking sheet with grape tomatoes.  Sprinkle with olive oil, salt, pepper & a dash of marjoram. Roast at 350 Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
