Home is Where the Heart Is

They say that "Home is Where the Heart Is" and I tend to agree.  No matter what is going on in the outside world my home is my sanctuary.  It is my haven that is always kept clean and smelling fresh for a pizza picnic on the couch when I have had a rough day.

Although the exterior came as-is the interior of our home is a place that I created with my husband and our memories.  A road sign reminder of our honeymoon hangs in the living area making me smile on a daily basis.  We have a kitchen full of mixed supplies from our lives before we met that seem to mesh into the perfect combination of objects to create wholesome and romantic meals night after night.  The bedrooms are cozy, and everything reminds me of the love that we share.

The newness has worn off, and now the fresh afternoon air of our neighborhood walks is full of memories of conversations past.  We make our usual circles with a combination of the usual chatter mixed in with new happenings.  We solve many of life's tough problems on these walks so when we go into the home there is only love.

I do admit to be one of those people who likes to move around and create new homes in new spaces, but I always bring my heart with me.

  1. This is a beautiful post, Brooke. Home is where my heart is, too. We move around one another comfortably and love the nature outside of our doors. Hugs & Blessings!

  5. Great post...The title reminded me of the T-Mobile Christmas commercial for some reason.
